Sad that you publish the answers while the competition is still open. The additional entries it encourages reduce the chances of winning of those willing to make the effort to work out the answers and detracts from the pleasure of doing so. I don't know why The Times allows it.
We fully understand yours and others similar views on this and appreciate it's frustrating for those that like to solve the clues. The answers are also available on other websites/forums/socials and, if we were the only source, we would consider not displaying them in the future.
I can understand your annoyance but bearing in mind the number of competitors (around 6,000) we all have little chance of winning. I use this website, after I have sent off my answer, simply to check whether I was right.
I think it is a disgrace that you publish the answers to the Times' "wherewasi" competition. For years
I have enjoyed the challenge of solving it, only to find that any Tom, ***** or Harry can find the answers without trying. Disgraceful!
