Go to be Clapham Junction.
We thought so ourselves for a while, but a user pointed out that Clapham Junction was relevant to the second question rather than the first. It's up to you though...
Its definitely Wandsworth Road Station. It opened on 1 March 1863.
Wrong answer today -
It’s Clapham Junction not Wandsworth - check the years of opening.
Edited: Thanks Lorraine but, on reflection and helped by other comments, we believe the answer is Wandsworth Road. They both opened in the same year.
But Wandsworth also opened 1863, and the cafe where A-ha filmed Take on Me, is only yards yards east-northeast of it. The Clapham common clue is relevant to the second destination for actress not the station. I think you were right the first time ( I come here to compare answers) I have entered as Wandsworth.

Clapham Junction is nowhere near the old Savoy Cafe, which is just over the road from Wandsworth Road station. The Scottish stuff is a red herring imho.

Did you see any error messages? Hopefully it was just a temporary issue as it's a long-running competition and is usually reliable. We would suggest trying again later and/or from a different device.
Sad that you publish the answers while the competition is still open. The additional entries it encourages reduce the chances of winning of those willing to make the effort to work out the answers and detracts from the pleasure of doing so. I don't know why The Times allows it.
We fully understand yours and others similar views on this and appreciate it's frustrating for those that like to solve the clues. The answers are also available on other websites/forums/socials and, if we were the only source, we would consider not displaying them in the future.
I can understand your annoyance but bearing in mind the number of competitors (around 6,000) we all have little chance of winning. I use this website, after I have sent off my answer, simply to check whether I was right.
I think it is a disgrace that you publish the answers to the Times' "wherewasi" competition. For years
I have enjoyed the challenge of solving it, only to find that any Tom, ***** or Harry can find the answers without trying. Disgraceful!
